Thanks for making our wedding day so wonderful!

Dear Family & Friends,

Thanks for your love and support and for traveling distances great and small to join in the celebration.  The thank you cards have been sent, the gifts have been put into daily circulation in our new home(s), the photos have been ordered, and we're settling down into our lives as husband and wife with some wonderful memories.  If you would like to see wedding photos, please email Verna (verna.kale@gmail.com) and you can have a CD of all 200 shots.

Now for some specific thanks to the people who made September 1, 2007 such a great day:  We thank our parents for their role in making our wedding day so special, and, more importantly, for raising us to think, to write, to play music, to imagine, to explore and to work hard.  We grew up to become scholar-teachers, and it was in pursuit of scholarship that we found each other. 

We thank our wedding party--you've been the most important people in our lives; thank you for always being there:  Argia, Clay, Danielle, Erin, Jason, Jesse,  Melissa, Niamh, and Ryan. 

We extend a special thank you to Pastor Lane Bembenek, Patricia Williams, and Becky Strength at Joy Lutheran Church.  They helped us to plan a wedding that was both solemn and celebratory, personal and traditional.  Thank you Pastor Lane for the beautiful homily, Patricia for the care you took in selecting and practicing the arrangements, and Becky for keeping everyone in line (literally). Thank you, too, to Argia and Ryan, our siblings, for lending their amazing voices to the ceremony.

We also thank "The Flamingos" for their help in organizing and setting up the reception.  They took some stick-figure drawings that were definitely not done to scale and turned our ideas into exactly the intimate and festive space we had in mind:  Jo Lynn Allen, Jean Boggs, Carol Cole, Paula Duncan, Kathy Hensley, and Wanda Moss--thank you!  We thank Tony Smith, Tara Neal, and Kathie Steinert for greeting our guests and getting the party started right.  We thank Elizabeth and Reed Rowell for keeping the registry.  We thank Mark Huffines for asking the blessing at the reception.
